Paintball
Fields
Hyper-Ball
Our
newest field. This is a 5-10 man tournament style field.
A-Field
Also known as Deep
Woods, it is Texas Paintball's largest field (for now). This
field has a way of disorienting its players. Coupled with
a player's ability to hide almost anywhere, it is vitally
important for each team to formulate some kind of strategy.
Often a winning strategy will include the words "move slowly,
and listen carefully."
Gem
A four-foot deep trench
cuts through this field, dividing it in half. That trench
separates both teams and their flag stations at the start
of the game and, with the center flag suspended above, each
team will need to figure out a way to descend safely into
the trench to retrieve it. This is the common denominator
that will promote some heavy action. Good planning and good
communication with your teammates may be the difference between
a sweeping victory or a crushing defeat.
Geod
A recent renovation
has turned this into one of Texas' favorite playing fields.
It was designed by our own players as a tournament field for
the 1999 GTS (Gulfcoast Tournament Series) championships.
An aggressive field, which can be played equally well from
both sides, means the outcome of every game is based on the
player's skill and imagination. An abundance of brightly colored
bunkers will provide a player with plenty of places to take
cover; however, this field is located adjacent to our staging
and picnic area, with a huge viewing area which may provide
you with an audience to be witness to your thrilling victory
or your agonizing defeat.
Speedball
A favorite of tournament
players, our Speedball field is regarded by many teams as
one of the best in Texas. A small close quarters field, the
action is always fast and furious. If you're looking for the
ultimate challenge this is it, a speed and intensity that
should only be experienced by those players with true grit.
Stone
Long, wide, flat,
and open...that should pretty much cover the field. Now for
the bunkers...short and narrow.
Whether you're playing Center Flag, Capture the Flag, or Elimination,
every game on this field will be a test of courage and resourcefulness.
On Stone, you will have to think and communicate with your
teammates. Know also that a victory for either team will not
be easy; finding and using every inch of available cover is
often the key to success.
A player once said about Stone, "When playing on Stone, all
of your friendships will be based on the amount of available
cover."
Crater
Probably the most
popular field at Texas Paintball, and with good reason. Both
teams start with the high ground and must descend into and
traverse a deep gully that runs the entire length of the field.
Add in a natural environment, with an abundance of large,
mature trees, and you are going to have to stay alert. With
the shade and shadows from the canopy above, it can be difficult
to keep track of your opponents' positions. It is not unusual
to find that you have been concentrating your efforts on an
empty bunker, only to discover that the person you were concentrating
on has managed to sneak out unseen, and is now standing behind
you. Ouch!
